Body Composition Analysis

Body Compositon Analysis
Our clinic is equipped with RJL unit to measure the individual’s Body Composition.

It provides the information and assessment on the following markers.

BCM, ECM & Total Fat, Fluid Status, Cellular Health and BMR

Body Cell Mass (BCM): The total mass of all the metabolically active components of the body such as the muscles, internal organs, blood. It’s a sensitive indicator of nutritional status.

Extra Cellular Mass (ECM): The support mass of the body, consisting of extra cellular fluid, and solid such as bones and cartilage. Its primary function is to support and transport nutrients, wastes and fluids.

Total Fat: Fat percentage healthy and unhealthy weight, excess levels are associated with increased risk for a wide variety of degenerative conditions.

Fluid Status: The fluid results are split up into three categories: ICW, ECW & TBW

Intracellular Water (ICW): The amount of water / nutrients contained inside the cell.

Extracellular Water (ECW): The total volume of fluid outside the cell.

Total Body Water (TBW): The total amount of water retained in your body.

Cellular Health: Measured by Phase Angle and Capacitance.

Phase Angle: Measures the cell membrane’s health. Higher the phase angle, reflects healthier cell membrane and over all cellular health and function.

Parallel Capacitance: Another marker for health of cell membrane. Higher the better.

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): The amount of energy your body requires everyday to perform its most basic functions, which include: breathing, digesting, muscle activity, transportation of fluids and tissues and circulation of blood.

This test is non-invasive, simple and takes about 5 minutes to perform. It provides personalized information on nutritional status, hydration level, and toxic waste build up and gives a good indication of your cellular health and how effectively your body is functioning.
